What are Wi-Fi Extenders?
Wi-Fi extenders expand the Wi-Fi network and eliminate Wi-Fi weak zones throughout a particular area. Wi-Fi extenders are different from Wi-Fi Routers. If you own a Linksys Router, we have a guide for you at (https://routerlogin.app/linksys-router-login/) that goes through the steps you should take to login into your router and configure the admin settings, password, username and much more. Wi-Fi extenders are installed at a workplace or home so that the device gets connected to the best signal. Here I am going to compare the reliability of the Wi-Fi extenders of both Companies.
Jio has a wide range of models in Wi-Fi extenders with different price ranges.
The affordable one with Seamless Wi-Fi coverage is Wi-Fi Mesh Extender JCM0112, and the luxury one is JioExtender6 AX6600 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh which comes in a range of about 352.85 USD.
Tenda’s extenders are generally low-priced as compared to Jio extenders. It has different models specified according to Range like AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender, AC2100 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender, Boost AC1200 Wi-Fi for the whole home, and A301 300 Mbps Wi-Fi repeater, etc.
Here I have chosen 1 model from the Jio JCM0112 Extender and the one Model from the Tenda A301 V2 wireless Universal Range Extender of the same price range to have a healthy comparison between their features.
- Wi-Fi EasyMesh Technology powers Jio’s JCM0112 Wi-Fi extender. It detects the bandwidth requirement of the device and manages traffic to eliminate lag and buffering. To avoid congestion on the same band, the Jio extender shifts devices to the optimum wireless band. It eliminates all dark zones and provides an uninterrupted network throughout a workplace or home wherever it is installed. JCM0112 extender has a very fast installation process, and just plugging in the plug would do it all.
- Tenda A301 is designed for larger apartments and villas. It has a faster transmission speed that ensures proper video playback, easy and fast downloading. It also assists big online games. As per designing it looks compact but elegant. It has a dynamic line pattern design. Also, two external omnidirectional antennas are attached, which gives it an old but cute look. It has both Repeater and AP mode so that the repeater can be switched easily as per need. It is mini-sized.
Coming to the difference, the main point to be noted is that Tenda’s wireless A301 V2 wireless Universal Range Extender gives a speed of 300 Mbps 802.11n speed. In comparison, the Jio JCM0112 has 100 Mbps fast Ethernet. Also, the price is around USD 6.79 more for the Jio one. Therefore as per speed and price Tenda is preferred over Jio.
Tenda A301 V2 extender comes with an LED to indicate signal strength. Blue light for a good signal, Red for poor signal, and Off light for no signal. 1 WPS LED and 1 Power LED is also present. In contrast, there is no such signal check feature in Jio JCM0112. It’s led only to assist placement decisions.
- Dimension for the Tenda A301 extender is 80mm*58mm*48mm(L×W×H) and for the Jio JCM0112 is 100mm×110mm×32mm. Thus JCM0112 occupies much more space than A301. Tenda has 2* External 3dBj omnidirectional antenna type, whereas JCM0112 has Internal Antennas, which gives it a luxury look.
- Next, talking about the Data rate in A301, it’s 2.4 GHz: Up to 300 Mbps and in JCM0112 also the same 2.4 GHz: 300 Mbps (40MHz). The Wi-Fi frequency of the Tenda A301 extender is 2.4 GHz, and the Jio Extender is 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band concurrent.
The Storage temperature for Tenda A301 is -40°C~70°C, and the Jio JCM0112 extender is -20 -85°C. Similarly, Ambient Humidity for Tenda A301 is (10~90)% RH, non-condensing and JCM0112 are similar.

So, as per features, price, and other specifications, Tenda has the edge over Jio. But as per the device’s look, one would choose a modern model like the Jio JCM0112 rather than an old piece like the Tenda A301.
In this comparison sheet, we have compared Tenda and Jio based on only one model(each) of their Wi-Fi extender, which is approximately the same price range. Likewise, the other models of these Wi-Fi extender companies give the same conclusion. All Jio extenders connect in a chain formation to extend Wi-Fi coverage to every corner of the workplace or home.
A user looking at the elegance and connectivity of the device should go with the Jio Wi-Fi extender one as it is more elegant than Tenda’s, but if one treats price and other features like LED comparatively more important would choose Tenda over Jio extenders.
